How do you get music off you 4G Touch to the computer?

My friend has a 4G Touch and is trying to get the music off of it and put it onto her computer. Problem is her computer is recognizing it as a digital camera and will only open the photo files? We have tried selecting un-hide the hidden files to get to the music but it won't work. Can anyone help us?
