Really need help with my iPod touch? Please!!!?

Ok, I dropped my itouch in the pool (yea I know..) and I immedietly put it in rice for 3 days. I just plugged it in and plugged it inot my lapotop( also an apple, macbook pro) and itunes says it will not show up on itunes (my ipod is not recognized) because it is locked with a passcode. The only problem is I can not get to the passcode screen it just says on my ipod that i should plug it into itunes. Anyone help me? Thanks
