Can i get fired if i have an intermitten fmla and my doctor takes me off of work for 2 weeks for mental illnes?

i had a doctors note saying i would be off for 2 weeks even tho i had an imla but the boss would not accept it. also my work policy says i had to call in when i'm absent but it does not say everyday i'm absent. do i have a case?
