Taking children out of school in the last two weeks of summer term?

I'm not sure if the school can formally allow it, as due to new regulations they can't allow leave of absence on the days around the school holidays. However, I wouldn't worry, my mother took me out of school one day before the Christmas holidays because my cousin was getting married. We contacted the school in the correct way and my head of year said that the school could not formally authorise it, but to go and have fun anyway and not worry. Also, as your daughter is in reception they won't mind. Schools often have forms if you want to apply for absence leave, which needs to be completed and handed in at reception.
